Details have been sent to me of an addition to the BC road race calendar on 9th Aug, and not yet on BC’s on-line calendar – Stafford RC’s 60th anniversary road race.  Fills the August race void nicely and will be a come-back target for the clicky hipped one   Details below:

Stafford Road Club hosts West Midlands regional road race league event marking 60^th anniversary year

On the 9^th August Stafford Road Club will host a 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th Women and Junior category road race as part of the already successful West Midlands’ road race league.  The circuit to be used is the well known and well rounded (not all flat, not all hilly and not too technical) Swynnerton course – covering 6 laps and therefore 66 miles all told.  A humane 9:30am start will greet riders, head quartered from Cotes Heath Village Hall, with SRC looking to make the most of the 60^th anniversary jubilee and provide a prize list that is fitting – quite some feat considering our enviable reputation already in providing some of the best prize lists in the region.  If that wasn’t good enough to whet your appetite for racing then knowing the event will be scored on the Regional A banding giving points down to 15^th place with 30 for the win!

Race service will, as usual, be provided by club sponsor Henry Burton’s and the other key club sponsor La Boulangerie will be providing refreshments, which given the expected finish time being so close to lunch – will hopefully go down well – even if it’s not the “spent” riders and is perhaps the supporters and spectators whom indulge.
