Anybody got any plans for a ride on Sunday? Simon and myself are thinking of incorporating the Burway into a reasonably long ride in the morning. Sounds like you boys are going to need to get some miles in your legs for the GFC… which I will be on holiday for! Shame, shame
Here is the proposed route. Meet at the Sheet Road roundabout, Ludlow at 9am.
That looks like a cracking ride. I’d like to say I’m up for this, but I’ve got a party to attend on Saturday night (as has Greek) and with the best will in the world, I can’t see me getting up in time after a couple of ’shandies’ the night before. I might be doubtful for the GFC too as me and the missus are attending a wedding the night before - again not ideal preparation for hard day in the saddle. Have a good one though chaps.
Everyone up for Thursday night next week though..?
Charler, Sorry, my brother and I are out on our bikes on Saturday due to commitments we both have on Sunday ! Have a great ride !
Dave
I’ll be there
Need the miles and what better way than getting beasted by you boys…again :-/
Phil.
Yeah i’m at a party with Matt so won’t make that one. I’m going to take the TT bike out around the scenic course on Saturday as i haven’t ridden that yet before Tuesday night. The Pinarello is sick ( as everyone will have heard last night )and needs some attention from Linc. Couldn’t face taking the winter nail out now!
The scenic course is a bit weird for a TT. Thing is not to blow on the climbs before the first left turn by the pub! Wise words, but unfortunately I do it wrong every time and end up paying for it on the latter stages! Watch the sharp bends as well. Many riders have had a real close look at the hedges on route!
Will see you there. Have a good party!
Phew, what a scorcher!! Thanks for the ride guys, especially Simon who stayed on the front for the last 20-25 miles! The Burway has been well and truly beaten and so have I! Time to rest, eat and eat some more!
What a ride! First time out on my new Scott R4 and couldn’t be more happy with comfort and performance.(thought buying an R4 was the only way to be able to tame charlie on the hills)We did over 8000ft of climbing in all and some great decents.Ask Phil about the decent off the ceri ridge.
Thanks Charlie for some great new roads.
Excellent ride - great planning Charlie. My longest for a couple of years, and one of the most enjoyable…even the Burway!
Lurve that Bianchi celeste
Not so sure about that sideways descent off Ceri Ridgeway mind you - how slippery can dusty roads be?!?! The closest I have come to a crash for a while without actually hitting the deck…must be down to my supreme handling skills…not! May be down to the new “green machine” though
Thanks for the tow over the last 20 miles Simon - you are going like a train.
Now, where is that aftersun lotion?
Rode a truncated version of this yesterday, 75 miles - heading straight back to Clun/Craven Arms from off the Ceri ridgeway. Absolutely awesome route, nice one Charler.
